I’m happy to share this testimony and prayer points with you.

The Faith of Hea-Woo

How the Lord Jesus works in North Korea

“I prayed to God. I prayed that my persecutors would help me stay alive. And God answered my prayer. The soldiers brought food and I slowly recovered. That was only possible through God's supernatural love and power. I kept praying for my oppressors. I brought them in prayer before God and asked God to forgive them so that they too would get to know Him.” That is what the North Korean Hea-Woo tells about how the Lord God helped her in a concentration camp in North Korea.

Being a Christian in North Korea is extremely difficult. Life for the average North Korean is focused on survival. But for Christians it may be even harder. After all, they believe in the Lord God and that is not accepted by the leaders of the country. Kim Jong-un is in power and demands that every inhabitant adore him and his father and grandfather as gods.

Due to the constant indoctrination, family, friends, neighbours and even children are alert and willing to report any suspicious situation to the police. If it is discovered that someone is a Christian, not only he, but also his entire family is punished severely. If the Christian is not shot on the spot, he is arrested, sent to a re-education camp or prison and tortured.

Prayer and praise points:

  1. · The church in North Korea is growing. Thank the Lord God for not letting go of His church in North Korea.

  2. · Pray for parents who would like to share their faith with their children, but also understand what the consequences might be. Pray for wisdom and insight.

  3. · Do you want to pray for Christians who spend their days in camps and prisons? Pray for strength for every day.

  4. · Our God still works miracles. Would you pray that there will be freedom in North Korea and that the leaders of the country get to know the Lord God?

  5. · As Hea-Woo prayed for her persecutors, pray for all people who work as guards, agents and interrogators in the various camps and prisons. They are convinced of their own right. Pray for the Holy Spirit to touch their hearts.

Thank you for your prayers,
